Former Ohio State RB Dallan Hayden Transfers to Colorado

Oct 7, 2023; Tempe, Arizona, USA; Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders walks the sidelines as his team takes on the ASU Sun Devils at Mountain America Stadium.

Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes added a new player to the running back position, with the commitment of Ohio State’s Dallan Hayden through the transfer portal.

Hayden, a four-star prospect in the Class of 2022, spent the previous two seasons at Ohio State and will now make the trip to Boulder ahead of the 2024 season.

Hayden, a 5-foot-10 sophomore from Memphis, Tennessee, had a successful freshman season in 2022 before a down year as a sophomore. Hayden suited up in just three games in 2023 but still posted 19 carries for 110 yards and a score. As a freshman in 2022, the Tennessee native totaled 111 carries for 553 yards and five touchdowns while averaging just under five yards per carry.

Coming out of Christian Brothers High School in the Class of 2022, Hayden was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 226th-ranked player. He also checked in as the 19th-ranked player at his position and the seventh-ranked player in the state of Tennessee.

With his commitment, Hayden becomes the Buffaloes’ fourth addition in the spring transfer window, joining Ohio DL Rayyan Buell, DL Dayon Hayes, and OT Payton Kirkland.

Hayden and the Buffs will play the North Dakota State Bison on Thursday, August 29th, in their first season in the Big 12 Conference since 2009.
