Kansas Makes Cutdown List for Dayton Transfer Guard Koby Brea

NCAA Basketball: Texas Christian at Kansas

Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks have been on a roll this offseason with their transfer portal additions, and now the group has a shot at adding another coveted player.

Kansas was one of five teams listed on the cutdown list for Dayton transfer Koby Brea, alongside UConn, Duke, Kentucky, and North Carolina.

Brea is coming off a big year at Dayton in 2023-24, averaging 11.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game on 51.2% shooting from the field. In addition to his impressive scoring numbers, Brea was one of the best shooters in the A10, connecting on 49.8% of his attempts from three.

While Brea was listed as an unranked prospect by most major recruiting services when coming out of high school, after four seasons at Dayton, Brea was listed as the 92nd-ranked player in the transfer portal and the 13th-ranked player at his position by the 247Sports index.

With Kansas already earning commitments from three different four-star guards in the transfer portal, including Riley Kugel, Zeke Mayo, and AJ Storr, the team finds themselves amid one of the best off-season transfer portal hauls in the entire Bill Self era.
