The BYU Cougars are losing another player to the transfer portal this season, with junior forward Atiki Ally Atiki electing to leave the program.

Atiki became the fourth BYU player to hit the portal, joining Dallin Hall, Richie Saunders, and Aly Khalifa.

While Atiki will likely explore his offers in the transfer portal, the first landing spot to consider is with his former coach, Mark Pope, at Kentucky. The junior big man was a solid piece of the Cougars’ offense in 2023-24, averaging 4.0 points and 2.9 rebounds per game in his third season of college basketball.

While Atiki was an unranked prospect by most major recruiting services when coming out of high school, the Tanzania native received offers from BYU, Oklahoma, and San Diego State.

With four key members of the team electing to transfer in search of greener pastures, to say that new head coach Kevin Young has his work cut out for him would be an understatement. Still, with this offseason shaping up to include one of the busiest portal cycles in college basketball history, they should have some options available for replacement.
