Two Big 12 Teams Mentioned in Cutdown List for Kennesaw State DL Carlos Allen

With the spring transfer portal window open until the end of April, teams are scrambling to address any holes they may have before the end of the week.

Two teams from the Big 12 are competing alongside Cal and Georgia Southern over the addition of Kennesaw State defensive lineman Carlos Allen.

According to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos, Kansas State and Houston are the two members of the Big 12 Conference locked in a battle for Allen’s services. It is believed that Allen will take official visits to both Kansas State and Houston in May.

Over his two-year stint with the Owls, Allen recorded 35 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and one forced fumble. Coming out of Douglass High School in the Class of 2020, Allen was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index. He also checked in as the 125th-ranked defensive lineman in his class and the 162nd-ranked player in the state of Georgia.

While Houston has seen significantly more players hit the transfer portal this offseason than Kansas State, the defensive line room in Manhattan appears to be a little thin after the team lost junior defensive lineman Jevon Banks to the portal.
