Brent Brennan and the Arizona Wildcats added a new name to their roster ahead of the 2024 season with the commitment of Memphis defensive line transfer Bear Anderson.

Jarra “Bear” Anderson, a three-star prospect in the Class of 2023, was a solid player in his freshman season at Memphis and will now head to Arizona as a sophomore.

Anderson, a 6-foot-2 freshman from Katy, Texas, had a successful freshman season in 2023 with the Tigers. The Texas native recorded 10 total tackles and 1.5 sacks in his lone season at Memphis.

Coming out of Paetow High School in the Class of 2023, Anderson was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 880th-ranked player. He also checked in as the 83rd-ranked player at his position and the 122nd-ranked player in the state of Texas.

With his commitment, Anderson became the first addition for the Wildcats in the spring transfer portal window.

Anderson and the Wildcats will play the New Mexico Lobos on Saturday, August 31st, in their first season in the Big 12 Conference.
