West Virginia G Noah Farrakhan Enters Transfer Portal

NCAA Basketball: Morehead State at West Virginia

Darian DeVries and the West Virginia Mountaineers lost another player to the transfer portal on Wednesday. Senior guard Noah Farrakhan elected to depart the program.

Farrakhan became the Mountaineers’ eighth departure to the transfer portal this offseason, leaving just one returner from the previous staff on the roster.

Farrakhan was a solid contributor for the Mountaineers in 2023-24, averaging 7.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game. The New Jersey native shot 40.9% from the floor and 35.1% from three in his fourth season of college basketball. Prior to his him at West Virginia, Farrakhan averaged 14.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game in two seasons at Eastern Michigan.

Coming out of The Patrick School in the Class of 2020, Farrakhan was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 263rd-ranked player. He also checked in as the 30th-ranked player at his position and the tenth-ranked player in the state of New Jersey.

While West Virginia head coach Darian DeVries has added a few solid players to his roster since accepting the job in Morgantown, with Noah Farrakhan becoming the latest departure, DeVries has a long way to go to field a complete roster.
