Arizona State QB Jaden Rashada Transfers to Georgia

Arizona State quarterback Jaden Rashada (5) throws a pass against Arizona during the third quarter at Mountain America Stadium in Tempe on Nov. 25, 2023.

On Thursday morning, Arizona State learned that former four-star quarterback Jaden Rashada had committed to the Georgia Bulldogs after entering the portal last week.

Rated as the top overall available quarterback in this cycle, Rashada will sit behind Carson Beck for the 2024 season and should immediately be in contention to start for the Bulldogs in 2025 and beyond.

Listed at 6-foot-4, 185 pounds, Rashada will give UGA their fourth scholarship quarterback, joining Beck, redshirt sophomore Gunner Stockton and true freshman Ryan Puglisi.

The No. 44 overall player in the class of 2023 and No. 6 quarterback in the country will have four years of eligibility remaining with the Bulldogs after playing a limited role for the Sun Devils due to injury.

He appeared in just three games in total, during which time he threw for 485 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions.

Last week, 247Sports hinted that Georgia might be the early favorite to land Rashada’s services, as Chris Hummer and Matt Zenitz reported.

“Multiple sources have indicated Georgia is a school to watch,” 247Sports’ Chris Hummer and Matt Zenitz wrote. “The Bulldogs have tried adding more depth to their QB room for much of the offseason, and going to Athens would provide Rashada a runway to sit and learn for a year behind established starter Carson Beck.

“If Rashada were to end up at Georgia, it’d be a situation very akin to Dante Moore, a fellow 2023 recruit, picking Oregon and choosing to sit and learn behind Dillion Gabriel for a year.”

Rashada’s exit from Arizona State leaves Kenny Dillingham with a question mark at quarterback heading into 2024. Michigan State transfer Sam Leavitt appears to be the early favorite to win the job, but he’ll have to hold off Jacob Conover and Trenton Bourguet heading into the summer.
