BYU’s Jaxson Robinson Enters Transfer Portal

Perhaps the biggest name to enter the transfer portal from BYU this offseason, the Big 12’s Sixth Man of the Year, Jaxson Robinson, has gone portaling.

While BYU fans received some good news this week with Dallin Hall and Richie Saunders returning to Provo, Robinson appears to be pursuing other opportunities through the transfer portal.

Robinson was a major contributor for the Cougars in 2023-24, averaging 14.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. The Oklahoma native shot 42.6% from the floor and 35.4% from three in his fourth season of college basketball. Prior to his time at BYU, Robinson made stops at Arkansas and Texas A&M.

Coming out of Ada High School in the Class of 2020, Robinson was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 67th-ranked player. He also checked in as the 13th-ranked player at his position and the second-ranked player in the state of Oklahoma.

While BYU head coach Kevin Young has added a few solid players to his roster since accepting the job in Provo, with Jaxson Robinson becoming the latest departure, Young has a long way to go to field a complete roster.
