With the 2024 NFL Draft in the books, it’s never too early to look ahead to the 2025 NFL Draft. And there are several Big 12 players who could find themselves in the first round next year.

Pro Football Focus released its 2025 NFL Draft Way-Too-Early Big Board and there were some notable Big 12 names, led by Arizona wider receiver Tetairoa McMillan at No. 9. He finished last season with the lowest drop rate among Power Five receivers with at least 100 targets this past season (2.1%). Plus, he finished third in the Power Five in receiving yards (1,396).

At No. 10 was Colorado WR/CB Travis Hunter. Not only did he serve as Colorado’s top corner in 2023, but he was also second on the team with 721 receiving yards. Hunter played 1,044 snaps in nine games, which was the most in college football.

Other Big 12 players on the list.

13. Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders
14. Arizona CB Tacario Davis
21. Oklahoma State RB Ollie Gordon
30. Arizona OT Jonah Savaiinaea

Needless to say, the Big 12, which only had one player from its 16 teams who will be in the league in 2024 selected in the first round last week, should have a much better 2025 NFL Draft, at least early on, than what we saw a few days ago.

Arizona OT Jordan Morgan was the only player taken in the opening round, but the second round saw several Big 12 players drafted. Overall, 31 Big 12 players were drafted, which was last of the Power 5 conferences.
