While the NFL Draft is an incredible opportunity to change the lives of select prospects, the day is understandably filled with anxiety.

Former Oklahoma defensive tackle Jonah Laulu displayed his nerves in a phone call with Colts general manager Chris Ballard, openly asking the GM if he was making a prank call.

The Colts used their seventh-round pick, No. 234, to select Laulu, and after a long day of waiting, the former Sooner had to make sure that he wasn’t being pranked.

Ballard started by introducing himself and mentioning that the team planned to select him with their last pick. Laulu responded by asking, “That’s not a prank call, is it?”

After a hearty laugh from Chris Ballard, Laulu mentioned the stress involved in waiting. Ballard responded by saying, “Everybody’s probably recruiting the crap out of you right now. You can tell them all to kiss your a**. You’re coming to Indy.”

Laulu, a two-year contributor at Oklahoma, posted 31 total tackles, 2.5 sacks, one interception, and one batted pass throughout his time in Norman. Ultimately, the Nevada native avoided a dreaded draft-day prank call and is set to be a member of the Indianapolis Colts.
