Baylor Lands First-Team All-CUSA Transfer EDGE Jaques Evans
After taking an official visit over the weekend, Western Kentucky transfer edge defender Jaques Evans has committed to Dave Aranda and the Baylor Bears.
Listed at 6-foot-2, 250 pounds, Evans recorded 106 tackles, 13.5 TFLs, 8.5 sacks, and 27 QB hurries in 2022, earning All-CUSA first-team honors that season.
In 2023, Evans missed all but six games with injury, but he appeared in 33 games over a three year span and totaled 178 tackles, 18.5 for loss, 11.5 sacks, seven PBU’s, five fumble recoveries, and two forced fumbles.
Evans becomes the top pass-rushing option on Baylor’s roster entering the 2023 season, as the Bears weren’t productive in that category last season and will hope to be much better heading into next season.
A product of Dublin, Georgia, Evans was the No. 693 prospect in the Class of 2020 and the No. 40-ranked athlete in the class.
Now, playing for Dave Aranda and a retooled Baylor defensive staff, Evans will hope to make the most of his final year of eligibility playing in the Big 12.
