BYU LB Chaz Ah You Enters Transfer Portal
Kalani Sitake and the BYU Cougars are losing a six-year member of their team with senior linebacker Chaz Ah You entering the transfer portal.
Chaz Ah You, a former four-star prospect, committed to join BYU in the Class of 2017, Kalani Sitake’s second year in Provo.
While Ah You has had a long career with the Cougars, he has seen the field in minimal games throughout his time in Provo. The Utah native posted 87 tackles in six years with the program, with his best seasons in 2019 (31 tackles) and 2021 (39 tackles).
Coming out of Timpview High School in the Class of 2017, Ah You was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 146th-ranked player. He also checked in as the 17th-ranked player at his position and the second-ranked player in the state of Utah.
Despite hitting the portal with just one season of eligibility remaining, the upside on a player like Chaz Ah You will likely bring some interested parties out of the woodwork. The Utah native chose the Cougars over offers from 22 different programs coming out of high school, including Utah, Kansas, Washington, UCLA, Michigan, Missouri, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Wisconsin, and more.
