One of the most talented players on UCF’s roster is entering the transfer portal, as DeMarkcus Bowman will once again look to start over fresh with a new program.

According to multiple reports, Bowman has entered the transfer portal for a third time now. Bowman was originally a member of Clemson’s 2020 recruiting class but was enrolled with the Tigers for two months before he transferred to Florida in October 2020.

After spending one full season with the Gators, Bowman entered the portal once again and landed with UCF in the summer of 2022. He’s been in Orlando since then and will now be on the look for a place to spend his remaining eligibility.

Bowman was one of the best players in the class of 2020, ranking as the No. 20 overall prospect and No. 3 RB in the class, according to 247Sports Composite ranking. The only running backs to rank ahead of him in the class were Bijan Robinson and Zach Evans, both of whom are on NFL rosters now.

However, Bowman’s road to success has been much less fruitful than either of those players, as he’s appeared in just 10 career games over three seasons, starting just once in that span.

Last year, Bowman logged 10 carries for 62 yards and a score for UCF in three appearances, with his best performance coming against Kent State in the season opener (8 att, 46 yds, 1 TD). Bowman suffered an injury against Villanova in the third game of the year and was forced to miss the remainder of the season.

Bowman spent the entire 2022 season as a member of the scout team for UCF and logged a redshirt year. Now, heading into his redshirt senior season, Bowman will have one final opportunity to prove he can stay healthy and make a difference for someone on the field.
