Texas Tech Football Sells Out Season Tickets for Second-Straight Year

NCAA Football: Texas Tech at Kansas

The buzz in Lubbock has been different since Joey McGuire took over as Texas Tech’s head football coach.

The Red Raiders are one of the most forward-thinking teams in the new-look Big 12, and the newly renovated Jones AT&T Stadium is going to be one of the best venues in the country to watch a college football game.

On top of that, the fan base, which was already rabid, is stoked for what should be a resurgent 2024 season for TTU.

Behren Morton is back as the unquestioned starting quarterback, and Tahj Brooks returns as one of the top running backs in college football. The Red Raiders are feeling very good about the program’s direction after McGuire turned things around in the second half of the 2023 season.

That excitement is palpable, too, as it is already showing up at the ticket office.

The Red Raiders announced on Wednesday that Texas Tech has officially sold out of season tickets for the second consecutive season.

The sellout means that TTU fans have purchased the entire allotment of over 32,000 season passes, and that does not include the seats reserved for students. The school also announced that all premium seating in Jones AT&T Stadium, including the new south endzone addition, is sold out.

“The passion this fan base continues to show our football program is incredible,” Joey McGuire said in a statement. “We are so grateful for each of our fans who purchased season tickets again this year. We can’t wait to be back inside Jones AT&T Stadium for seven home games as I truly believe our gameday atmosphere is only going to get better with the elements we are adding with the south end zone addition.”

Texas Tech will kick off the 2024 season with a home tilt against Abilene Christian on August 31. Further details, including kickoff time, will be announced closer to the beginning of the season.
