Houston Lands Kennesaw State Transfer DL Carlos Allen

Willie Fritz and Houston got some good news on Thursday as 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz announced that Kennesaw State transfer DL Carlos Allen is expected to end up picking the Cougars as his next destination.

Allen, a former three-star defensive tackle out of Loganville, Georgia, is listed at 6-foot-1, 303 pounds, and has spent each of the last four years with the Owls.

Allen entered the transfer portal on April 10 and has drawn interest from several Power Four programs, but recently narrowed his choices down to Houston, Kansas State, Cal, and Georgia Southern, according to a report from On3.

The grad transfer will have one year of eligibility remaining and figures to be an instant contributor for the Cougars in 2024. Over the past two seasons, Allen tallied 35 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and a forced fumble.
