Arizona Trending for In-State Rival WR Elijhah Badger in Transfer Portal
While Saturday’s report from On3’s Pete Nakos may bring a smile to the faces of Arizona football fans, news of former Arizona State wide receiver Elijhah Badger‘s visit schedule is a heartbreaker for Sun Devils fans everywhere.
According to Nakos, after hearing from 20 different schools in the transfer portal, the California native is ready to start taking visits and has his eyes set on the Arizona Wildcats.
In his last season in Tempe, Badger recorded 65 catches for 713 yards and three receiving touchdowns. Those numbers helped boost his career totals with the Sun Devils to 142 grabs for 1,640 yards and 13 total touchdowns.
Coming out of Folsom High School in the Class of 2020, Badger was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 141st-ranked player. He also checked in as the third-ranked player at his position and the 14th-ranked player in the state of California.
Badger will hit the portal with two years of eligibility remaining, with a true senior season and a redshirt year in 2020.
Alongside Arizona, the California native plans to visit Florida and has already completed a trip to Washington. Arizona, Florida, and Washington were all interested in Badger coming out of high school and attempted to beat out the Sun Devils for Badger’s services.
Regardless of where Elijah Badger may end up, Arizona State has some sizeable vacancies to fill before the start of the 2024 season. To make matters worse, the loss of Badger may include watching him suit up for their longtime rival.
