Iowa State in the Mix for Iowa WR Transfer Jacob Bostick

NCAA Football: Oklahoma State at Iowa State

Matt Campbell and the Iowa State Cyclones are competing to land a former member of their in-state rival Iowa Hawkeyes, with sophomore wide receiver Jacob Bostick completing a visit to Ames.

According to On3’s Steve Wiltfong, Iowa State is one of three programs to receive a visit from Bostic alongside Ole Miss and Vanderbilt.

Coming out of Palatine High School in the Class of 2022, Bostic was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 635th-ranked player. He also checked in as the 89th-ranked player at his position and the 11th-ranked player in the state of Illinois.

Bostic will hit the portal with three years of eligibility remaining after redshirting for the Hawkeyes in 2022, followed by a five-game campaign in 2023.

Alongside Iowa State, the Illinois native has already taken a visit to Vanderbilt and is planning a trip to Ole Miss over the weekend. He also recently received an offer from Texas A&M, and the Aggies are pushing hard for a visit.

An impressive player in his class, Bostic received offers from 19 different programs, including Illinois, Louisville, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, South Dakota, Western Michigan, and more.

While the Cyclones would still have to fend off the likes of Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, and Ole Miss for Bostic’s service, Hawkeye fans could be forced to watch one of their own do the unthinkable and commit to their in-state rival this offseason.
