UCF Makes Cutdown List for UTSA Transfer G Jordan Ivy-Curry

UCF head basketball coach Johnny Dawkins.

Johnny Dawkins and the UCF Knights have found themselves in a good position to land a highly-coveted player in the transfer portal this offseason, UTSA’s Jordan Ivy-Curry.

Ivy-Curry released a three-team cutdown list on Monday that included UCF, Auburn, and Wake Forrest.

Ivy-Curry is coming off a big year at UTSA in 2023-24, averaging 17.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game on 40.1% shooting from the field. In addition to his impressive scoring numbers, the Texas native quickly developed into a talented shooter, connecting on 38.7% of his attempts from three.

While Ivy-Curry was listed as an unranked prospect by most major recruiting services when coming out of high school, after four of college basketball, the former Road Runner was listed as the 365th-ranked player in the transfer portal and the 60th-ranked player at his position by the 247Sports index.

Should UCF win the recruiting battle against Auburn and Wake Forrest, Ivy-Curry would become the Knights’ fourth addition through the transfer portal this offseason. Dawkins has already earned commitments from George Mason’s Keyshawn Hall, Syracuse’s Benny Williams, and Memphis’ Mikey Williams.

While UCF had a tough first season as a member of the Big 12 Conference in 2023-24, Johnny Dawkins is attacking the offseason transfer portal with the goal of contending for a title on his mind in 2024-25.
