Spring football is now behind us, and the long wait for summer activities is upon us, which means preseason list season is in full swing.

One such list, released on Tuesday, has inadvertently sparked quite a controversy between the two sides of the Farmageddon rivalry.

Twitter account Life and Football tweeted out a top-five list for Big 12 quarterbacks ahead of the 2024 season, which included Shedeur Sanders, Rocco Becht, Noah Fifita, KJ Jefferson, and Alan Bowman.

Well, Kansas State running backs coach Brian Anderson seemed to take issue with the list and replied to the post, “Haha #2.”

The safe assumption here would be that Anderson is referring to the omission of K-State quarterback Avery Johnson, who wears No. 2 for the Wildcats.

However, Iowa State fans appear to think that Anderson is making a comment about their quarterback, Rocco Becht, who is second on the list.

Meanwhile, K-State fans are almost beside themselves that the tweet was seemingly taken out of context.

Iowa State’s football account even appeared to respond with a cryptic tweet of their own.

What do you think? Was it reasonable to believe this was a shot at Becht, or is Iowa State reaching on this one?
