No. 1 Running Back in Nevada Cale Breslin Commits to BYU
Kalani Sitake and the BYU Cougars added a new name to the Class of 2025 with the addition of three-star running back Cale Breslin.
Breslin, a 5-foot-11 three-star from Las Vegas, is currently listed as the top-ranked running back in the state of Nevada.
An impressive player in his class, Breslin chose the Cougars over offers from eight different teams, including Wisconsin, Indiana, Syracuse, San Deigo State, Hawaii, Florida Atlantic, UConn, and Campbell.
Coming out of Faith Lutheran High School in the Class of 2025, Breslin was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 1106th-ranked player. He also checked in as the 82nd-ranked player at his position and the 10th-ranked player in the state of Nevada.
“Breslin is one of the top backs in the state and has been since his sophomore year,” national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins writes. “He has good initial quickness and burst and can hit his top gear after just a few strides. He’s probably more quick than fast but does show the ability to outrun a secondary at the HS level. He has excellent vision and patience and does a nice job waiting for holes to develop and then exploding through. He has some shake and wiggle to him and is able to make cuts and make defenders miss in the open field without having to gear down and can maintain his top end speed. He’s a tough back as well and doesn’t shy away from contact.”
Breslin will have an opportunity to watch his future team take the field for the first time in 2024 on Saturday, August 31st, against the Southern Illinois Salukis.
