West Virginia Football Adds BYU QB Transfer Ryder Burton

NCAA Football: Kansas State at West Virginia

Neal Brown and the West Virginia Mountaineers added an in-conference transfer to their roster with the commitment of former BYU quarterback Ryder Burton.

Burton, a three-star signal caller from Utah, spent his freshman year in Provo after committing to BYU in the Class of 2023.

Coming out of Springville High School in the Class of 2023, Burton was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 1538th-ranked prospect. He also checked in as the 64th-ranked player at his position and the 14th-ranked player in the state of Utah.

With his commitment, Burton became the second transfer to commit to West Virginia this spring and the 11th overall addition this offseason. He joins Charlotte defensive back transfer Dontez Fagan as another player who chose to transfer to WVU in the spring portal window.

Burton and the rest of the 2024 class of transfers will take the field for the Mountaineers on Saturday, August 31st, against the Penn State Nittany Lions.
