Kevin Young and the BYU Cougars made a nice addition on Tuesday with the commitment of former Stanford signee Elijah Crawford.

Crawford, a four-star point guard from New Hampshire, chose the Cougars over offers from 12 different programs, including UCF, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Wichita State, Xavier, and more.

Coming out of Brewster Academy in the Class of 2024, Crawford was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 112th-ranked prospect. He also checked in as the ninth-ranked player at his position and the second-ranked player in the state of New Hampshire.

With his commitment, Crawford became the fourth addition to the Cougars’ 2024 class, joining three-star combo guard Brooks Bahr, three-star power forward Brody Kozlowski, and three-star power forward Isaac Davis.

Despite a coaching change derailing some offseason momentum for BYU, Crawford’s commitment to the team was a major recruiting win for the Cougars as the New Hampshire native is the seventh-highest-rated prospect in program history.

Young had some help from BYU assistant coach Brandon Dunson, who was Crawford’s main recruiter at Stanford, where he previously committed. Dunson helped secure Crawford’s lone visit and wrapped up the trip with a new commit in the Class of 2024.
