West Virginia Adds SEC Transfer WR Justin Robinson

NCAA Football: Kansas State at West Virginia

Garrett Greene and the WVU offense got some good news on Tuesday afternoon as the Mountaineers earned a commitment from Mississippi State transfer wideout Justin Robinson.

Listed at 6-foot-4, 220 pounds, Robinson will provide a sizeable target for Greene to utilize in the passing game, and his experience in the SEC will be invaluable heading into the 2024 season.

A product of Eagle’s Landing Christian High School in Mcdonough, Georgia, Robinson was listed as a four-star wideout in the class of 2020 and originally committed to UGA over a host of other programs, including Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia.

However, after two seasons with the Bulldogs, Robinson opted to enter the transfer portal and spent each of the last two years with Mississippi State. In that time, he totaled 51 receptions for 583 yards and three touchdowns.

Robinson will add another dynamic piece to a West Virginia offense that is already set to return several key pieces from a unit that helped lead them to a 9-4 campaign a season ago.

With Greene back at quarterback and both CJ Donaldson and Jaheim White back, the WVU backfield is loaded. At wideout, Traylon Ray and Preston Fox will return but the Mountaineers have also added Oklahoma State transfer Jaden Bray. Add to that a few returning starters along the offensive line, and the unit has high expectations.

If the defense can offset the losses of a few key players, there’s no reason to believe the Mountaineers can’t surprise some folks for the second season in a row.
