Two Big 12 Games on FOX’s Friday Night College Football Schedule

The new-look Big 12 is bringing a ton of excitement to the fans around the league, and much of that has to do with the high-level matchups that will result from adding programs like Utah, Colorado, and Arizona to the mix.

On Wednesday, we saw some details emerge about some of the games on the schedule for next season, and particularly what the new Friday night schedule for FOX will look like. Earlier this year, we learned that the network would grab a marquee game from the Big 12 and Big Ten each week and broadcast it on Friday nights.

Brett McMurphy from the Action Network reported on Wednesday the finer details for some of the games and two Big 12 matchups made the list.

The first Friday night matchup of the season will be in Week 2. It will feature a huge bout between Arizona and Kansas State, both of whom should be somewhere among the Top 15 teams heading into the year. The game is scheduled for Friday, August 13, at 8:00 p.m. CT.

Because it was scheduled before Arizona joined the Big 12, the league will recognize this game as a nonconference game, and it won’t count against either of their conference records.

The second Big 12 matchup of the year to get the Friday night primetime slot comes in the final week of the regular season when Utah heads to Orlando to take on UCF.

Utah is currently seen as the co-favorite to win the Big 12, alongside Kansas State, while UCF is mostly a dark horse in the league but has made a ton of big moves in the transfer portal this cycle.

The Utes and Knights will kickoff at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 29, in what could be a game with major Big 12 Championship implications.
