Kansas State Transfer Achor Achor Withdraws from NBA Draft

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament East Regional Practice

After testing NBA Draft waters, forward Achor Achor has decided to return to the Kansas State Wildcats to play under Head Coach Jerome Tang next season, per Jon Rothstein.

The Samford transfer averaged 16.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists for the Bulldogs last season. His efficiency made him one of the most intriguing prospects in the NCAA Transfer Portal, as he ranked No. 21 in the country, shooting 58.6% from the floor.

The 6-foot-9 forward has one year of eligibility remaining.

Samford reached the 2024 NCAA Tournament before losing in a close battle to the Kansas Jayhawks, 93-89. Despite the loss, Achor made a national statement, finishing with 23 points and eight rebounds.

While being a force in the paint, the First Team Southern Conference Selection can stretch the floor, as he shot 43.5% from three last season.

Kansas State is coming off a 19-15 season, where the squad missed the National Tournament. Entering just his third season as head coach of the Wildcats, Tang has already amassed 45 wins, including an Elite 8 appearance during the 2022-23 season.

With Achor set to play his first and final season in Manhattan, K-State will be right back in the mix for the Big 12 Title.
