Look: Big 12 to Unveil Game Times for 2024 Football Season on Thursday

The Big 12 Conference announced, via X that the game times for the 2024 college football season will be announced at 1:30 p.m. CT. on Thursday.

With the additions of the Arizona Wildcats, Arizona Sun Devils, Colorado Buffaloes, and the Utah Utes ahead of the 2024 season, the Big 12 will continue to be very competitive, despite Texas and Oklahoma heading to the SEC.

The Big 12 has sent a team to the College Football Playoff in back-to-back seasons with TCU (2022-23) and Texas (2023-24).

 

Penn State travels to Morgantown to take on the West Virginia Mountaineers in Week 1 on Aug. 31. The Nittany Lions finished last season ranked No. 13 in the Final AP Top 25 Poll. WVU shocked the country, tying for fourth in the Big 12, with a 9-4 campaign capped off with a bowl win over North Carolina.

In Week two, the Iowa State Cyclones are set to take on their in-state rivals, the Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday, Sep. 7. Iowa finished last season ranked No. 24 in the nation.

Colorado is set to rematch Colorado State on Saturday, Sep. 14, a game that channeled in millions of viewers last season, setting an ESPN record for the most-watched late night prime time matchup, according to The Athletic.

Fast forward to Week 8, new Big 12 opponents Colorado and Arizona are set to face off in Tuscon on Saturday, Oct. 19. This matchup consists of a ton of talent on both sides, with Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter for Colorado, and Noah Fifita and Tetairoa McMillan of Arizona.

The Big 12 football season ends with a highly anticipated matchup between Oklahoma State and Colorado during the last week of the regular season on Friday, Nov. 29 with Cowboys’ running back Ollie Gordon II set to make another run for the Heisman Trophy.
