Gus Malzahn and the UCF Knights added a new name to the Class of 2025 with the commitment of four-star offensive lineman Gavin Blanchard.
Blanchard, a 6-foot-3, 300-pound lineman from Florida, chose the Knights over offers from 11 different programs, including TCU, Louisville, Purdue, USF, and more.
Coming out of Wiregrass Ranch High School in the Class of 2025, Blanchard is listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index but earned four-star status on ESPN. The Florida native checks in as the nation’s 874th-ranked prospect, the 59th-ranked player at his position, and the 114th-ranked player in the state of Florida.
On his official visit, Blanchard told reporters, “I’m all in, through thick and thin. I let them [Gus Malzahn, Herb Hand, and Jeris McIntyre] know, and they all stood up and gave me a big hug. It was a good moment.”
With his commitment, Blanchard became the Knights’ tenth commitment in the Class of 2025, joining an impressive cast of athletes. The group is headlined by four-stars, Kendarius Reddick, Taevion Swint, and Tony Williams, and six other three-star prospects.
Blanchard and the rest of the future Knights will get to watch their team play for the first time in 2024 on Thursday, August 29th, against New Hampshire.
