It’s no secret that the Big 12 claims to be the deepest conference in college basketball, and their case for that only grows in 2024.

With the addition of hoops powerhouse Arizona, plus Colorado–who is coming off an NCAA Tournament run–Arizona State and Utah, the league gets that much tougher going forward.

Despite several of the league’s biggest stars heading to the NBA Draft this summer, there is still loads of talent in the Big 12, and this shows up when analysts start to look at which teams might have the chance to make a run next season.

CBS Sports’ Isaac Trotter put together a post-draft deadline Top 25 on Tuesday, and to say that the Big 12 is well-represented is an understatement.

Kansas checks in as the No. 1 team in the country, which will be a common theme as we approach the 2024 season, while Houston comes in at No. 2 on the list.

Iowa State appears at No. 8–which many argue is too low–and Baylor comes in at No. 11. Big 12 newcomer Arizona is right behind the Bears at No. 12, and then we have our biggest gap without a Big 12 school, going all the way to No. 19 before Texas Tech checks in.

Finally, Cincinnati comes in at No. 22, giving the Big 12 seven schools on the list. With teams like BYU, TCU, Kansas State, and UCF all figuring to be tough as well, there’s not much argument to the fact that this league is head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to having a gauntlet of a conference schedule.
