Three-Star Wake Forrest WR Commit Teriq Mallory Flips to West Virginia

NCAA Football: Kansas State at West Virginia

Neal Brown and the West Virginia Mountaineers added a new name to the Class of 2025 with the commitment of three-star wide receiver Teriq Mallory.

Mallory was originally committed to joining Wake Forrest, but after a weekend visit to Morgantown, the Connecticut native flipped his commitment to West Virginia.

Coming out of Cheshire Academy in the Class of 2025, Mallory was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 906th-ranked player. He also checked in as the 122nd-ranked player at his position and the eighth-ranked player in the state of Connecticut.

“WVU felt right for me because Morgantown just felt like home,” Mallory told On3’s Steve Wiltfong. “The people and the fans in Morgantown show a lot of love. Also, the coaching staff has been on me for more than a year now, and I built a very good relationship with the head coach and the wide receivers coach. I believe WVU will prepare me to be better on and off the field. The impact and opportunity I will have at West Virginia is going to be phenomenal! There was no way in the world I was going to pass it up!”

With his commitment, Mallory became the Mountaineers’ ninth addition in the Class of 2025, joining Deandre Desinor, Gavin Crawford, Zah Jackson, Scotty Fox, Jackson Accuardi, Eidan Buchannon, Tyshawn Dues, and Thomas Barr.

Mallory and the rest of the future Mountaineers will have an opportunity to watch their future team take the field for the first time in 2024 on Thursday, August 29th, against the Penn State Nittany Lions.
