Mississippi State Guard Shakeel Moore Transfers to Kansas

NCAA Basketball: Fort Hays State at Kansas

With one season left of eligibility, former Mississippi State guard Shakeel Moore transferred to Kansas on Wednesday via his Instagram.

Moore averaged 7.9 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists for the Bulldogs last season before entering the transfer portal.

The 6-foot-1 guard played his freshman season with NC State before spending the last three years with Mississippi State.

In 33 games, Moore started in 22 contests while shooting 46.8% from the field and 36.3% from three. He helped the team reach a 21-14 overall record, finishing ninth in the SEC.

He reached a season-high 16 points in a win over Murray State and dished out a season-best five assists in a victory against Rutgers.

The Bulldogs reached the NCAA Tournament as a No. 8 seed before losing to Michigan State in the first round.

Moore joins a stacked KU transfer class with AJ Storr (Wisconsin), Zeke Mayo (South Dakota State), Noah Shelby (Rice), and Rylan Griffen (Alabama).

Kansas returns Hunter Dickinson, KJ Adams, and Dajuan Harris Jr. after going 23-11 last season, fifth in the Big 12 Conference. The team was given a No. 5 seed in the tournament and defeated Samford in the first round, before falling to Gonzaga.
