The West Virginia Mountaineers have added two non-conference opponents ahead of the 2024-25 college basketball season.

WVU will host Iona on Nov. 20 and Mercyhurst on Dec. 22, marking it the first time the Mountaineers will match up with both of these programs.

After the addition of these games, the program can schedule two more non-conference opponents.

West Virginia is set to open up the regular season against the Robert Morris Colonials in Morgantown on Nov. 4.

After finishing last place in the Big 12 in the 2023-24 season, the Mountaineers hired former Drake Head Coach Darian DeVries this offseason. The team ranked last in offense and defense in the conference last season.

His son, Tucker DeVries transferred to the Mountaineers after being named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year with season averages of 21.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game.

The 6-foot-7 guard was sixth in the country in scoring and helped the Bulldogs reach the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

The Mountaineers have made several additions in the NCAA Transfer Portal this spring including Illinois transfers Amani Hansberry and Sencire Harris, as well as Oklahoma State transfer Javon Small, Detroit transfer Jayden Stone, and Washington State transfer Joseph Yesufu.
