Iowa State Football Lands 2025 Three-Star ATH Mason Ellens

NCAA Football: Oklahoma State at Iowa State

Matt Campbell and the Iowa State Cyclones added a new player to the Class of 2025 with the commitment of three-star athlete Mason Ellens.

Ellens, a 6-foot, 175-pound athlete from Illinois, chose the Cyclones over offers from eight other schools, including Iowa, Minnesota, Boston College, and more.

Coming out of Glenbard West High School in the Class of 2025, Ellens is listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index. He also checks in as the 81st-ranked athlete in his class and the 26th-ranked player in the state of Illinois.

“I’m COMMITTED to play football at IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY to continue my academic and athletic career,” Ellens said in a post. “Coach Campbell, thank you for this amazing opportunity, and Coach Broomfield, thank you for being consistent and believing in me.”

With his commitment, the Illinois native became the Cyclones’ ninth addition in the class, joining eight other three-star prospects, including QB Alex Manske, EDGE Jack Limbaugh, WR Karon Brookins, OT Will Tompkins, WR Xzavion Robinson, OT Jack Shaffer, EDGE Trey Verndon, and EDGE Charlie Woleben.

Ellens and the rest of the future Cyclones will be able to watch their team kick off the 2024 season against North Dakota on Saturday, August 31st.
