Former Kansas State QB Adrian Martinez Wins 2024 UFL MVP

NCAA Football: Texas Tech at Kansas State

On Monday, former Kansas State quarterback Adrian Martinez was awarded the 2024 UFL Most Valuable Player Award for his spectacular season.

Martinez led the Birmingham Stallions to the United Football League Championship Game, where he will play against the San Antonio Brahmas on Sunday, June 16th.

Martinez posted some incredible stats in 2024, leading the league in rushing yards, finishing third in passing yards, second in passing touchdowns, second in all-purpose yards, and tied for the league-most in touchdowns scored. The former Wildcat threw for 1,749 yards, ran for 528 yards, and accounted for 18 total touchdowns (15 pass, three rush).

After transferring from Nebraska to Kansas State in 2022, Martinez helped lead the Wildcats to a Big 12 Championship in tandem with new Ohio State quarterback Will Howard. Martinez sustained some injuries as a senior but finished off his Kansas State career with 1,261 passing yards, 627 rushing yards, and 16 total touchdowns in limited games.

While Martinez’s path to the big leagues has been a somewhat unorthodox journey, after dazzling NFL scouts as league MVP of the UFL, his journey is far from over.
