Wichita State Picks Up Arizona State Transfer Zane Meeks

Arizona State University head basketball coach Bobby Hurley is interviewed on TNT's pregame broadcast Men's before the NCAA national championship game at State Farm Stadium.

Former Arizona State forward Zane Meeks transferred to Wichita State for his last season of college basketball.

This will mark his sixth season, following stints with Nevada and San Francisco before playing with the Sun Devils last year.

The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 3.6 points and 1.2 rebounds while shooting 46.2% from the floor in 2023-24. However, an ankle injury limited him to just five games.

He had a career year in 2022-23 with San Francisco, when he averaged 10.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game, including a season-best 20 points to lead the team to a win over Fresno State. The big man can stretch the floor as well since he shot 46.2% from three this past season.

Arizona State struggled in its last season playing in the Pac 12, as head coach Bobby Hurley and company went 14-18, finishing ninth in the conference.

Meeks finished with six points in three games last season against Mississippi State, Texas Southern, and Vanderbilt.

The Shockers have picked up several commitments from the transfer portal, including Justin Hill (Georgia), Corey Washington (Saint Peters), and A.J. McGinnis (Lipscomb).

Wichita State finished 10th in the American Conference last season with an overall record of 15-19.
