Lance Leipold and the Kansas Jayhawks added their fifth player of the day in the Class of 2025, with the newest Jayhawk being three-star defensive lineman Josiah “Cheese” Hammond.
Hammond, a 6-foot-3 defensive lineman from Oklahoma, chose the Jayhawks over offers from 13 different programs, including Iowa State, Utah, Arizona, Houston, Washington, and more.
Coming out of Union High School in the Class of 2025, Hammond was listed as a three-star prospect by the On3 Industry Rankings. He also checks in as the 51st-ranked player at his position and the 13th-ranked player in the state of Oklahoma.
Kansas has been on an incredible hot streak on Sunday, adding a total of five different prospects to the Class of 2025. Hammond joins a cast of impressive players, including three-star EDGE Garrett Martin, three-star EDGE Adrian Holley, three-star LB Kenyon Rivera, and safety Brandon Schmelzle.
Kansas’ group now checks in as the nation’s 41st-ranked recruiting class and features a total of 11 different prospects heading to Lawrence. Hammond and the rest of the future Jayhawks will have an opportunity to watch their future team take the field in 2024 on Thursday, August 29th, against Lindenwood.
