Despite Colorado’s disappointing 4-8 season in 2023, expectations are still very high in Boulder heading into 2024.
Even though quarterback Shedeur Sanders played behind a poor offensive line, he still managed to throw for 27 touchdowns with only three interceptions during his sophomore campaign.
Not only is the 6-foot-2 play caller an elite passer, but he is a threat when it comes to the ground game. As a result, experts predict Sanders to get drafted No. 2 overall to the Las Vegas Raiders in ESPN’s newest 2025 NFL Mock Draft,.
This pick would mean that the Raiders have their franchise quarterback on roster to replace their current QBs, Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew.
Sanders, who threw for 3,230 yards last season, will be in the mix for the Heisman trophy along with his teammate, cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter.
Hunter is also projected to be selected early in the first round by ESPN, going ninth overall to the Arizona Cardinals. Despite missing three games due to injury, the two-way star hauled in 721 receiving yards and made 31 tackles.
With an improved all-around roster, NFL scouts could definitely see even better numbers from Sanders, who will lead the Buffaloes in their first season back in the Big 12 Conference since 2011.
