As Gus Malzahn and the UCF Knights continue to win some highly contested recruiting battles this offseason, the team now firmly sits atop the Big 12 Conference with the league’s best recruiting class.

The scale for UCF dethroning others in the league revolves around the average per-player ranking, with UCF’s 17 commits being listed with a rating of 88.26.

Listed below are the per-player averages for each school in the Big 12.

  • UCF – 88.26
  • TCU – 87.92
  • Colorado – 87.51
  • Oklahoma State – 87.11
  • Kansas State – 86.94
  • T-6 Texas Tech – 86.84
  • T-6 Arizona State – 86.84
  • Cincinnati – 86.79
  • Baylor – 86.75
  • Houston – 86.61
  • West Virginia – 86.46
  • Utah – 86.42
  • Iowa State – 86.32
  • Arizona – 86.15
  • Kansas – 86.08
  • BYU – 85.00

In addition to being listed at the top of the Big 12 Conference, UCF also holds the 22nd-ranked recruiting class in the nation. The group jumped from 27th to 22nd on Saturday with the recent commitment of three-star defensive lineman Christian Hudson, who chose the Knights over Iowa State, Maryland, and Iowa.

Gus Malzahn has made swift work in the Class of 2025, bringing in headliners like four-star safety Kendarius Reddick, four-star running back Taevion Swint, four-star wide receiver Waden Charles, four-star safety Tony Williams, and a cast of 13 different three-star prospects from around the country.

While the criticism of Gus Malzahn has never been about his ability to recruit, with a loaded class heading to Orlando in 2025, the conversation now shifts to putting the talent to good use.
