Look: Big 12 Has Three of the Five Most Watchable CFB Teams in 2024

NCAA Football: Texas Tech at West Virginia

The Big 12 has been one of the most entertaining leagues in college football for quite some time, but their case could be even stronger heading into the 2024 season.

Sure, Oklahoma and Texas are gone, but the addition of Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah add another layer of competitive depth to the league that now has 16 total programs.

Nearly every week of the season will provide more than one intriguing matchup across the league, and with some of the best coaches in America in the fold, the chess matches between the sidelines are worth watching all on their own.

The “watchability” of teams is difficult to quantify, but the Kelley Ford Ratings appears to have figured things out. On Monday, the KFord Ratings released a ranking of the teams with the highest average watchability for regular season games in 2024, and the Big 12 fares very well.

Watchability is scored based on teams playing high-quality opponents and competitive games on a weekly basis, and that’s exactly what you’ll get in the Big 12 this season.

Oklahoma State checks in at No. 3 on the list, with West Virginia at No. 4, and Colorado checking in at No. 5.

The Pokes, Mountaineers, and Buffs all play at least one Power Four opponent in their nonconference slate and should be competitive in Big 12 play this season. But, the league’s depth shows beyond the top five as well.

Kansas State (No. 10), Iowa State (No. 11), TCU (No. 14), UCF (No. 23), Utah (No. 26), Kansas (No. 28), and Texas Tech (No. 29) all check in inside the Top 30.

If you’re looking for a league that’s going to keep you glued to the TV with every single game, look no further than the Big 12.
