The Week 4 Big 12 college football attendance numbers came in after this weekend’s games and it was a strong showing across the board for the Big 12 Conference as most teams got their conference seasons underway.
There were two Big 12 stadiums that went over 100% capacity on Saturday, while only one game came in under 90% capacity: West Virginia vs. Kansas.
Here are the numbers.

- BYU vs. Kansas State: 64,201 (101.1%)
- Texas Tech vs. Arizona State: 58,795 (97.9%)
- Iowa State vs. Arkansas State: 55,428 (90.2%)
- Colorado vs. Baylor: 52,794 (105%)
- West Virginia vs. Kansas: 52,428 (87.4%)
- Oklahoma State vs. Utah: 52,202 (97%)
- Cincinnati vs. Houston: 38,007 (95%)
Credit to BYU and Colorado fans for packing their respective stadiums on Saturday. BYU went on to destroy Kansas State 38-9, while Colorado had a Hail Mary completed vs. Baylor to force overtime and went on to win the game 38-31.
Texas Tech fans showed out in full force despite a shaky start to the season and taking on an unknown and new Big 12 school in Arizona State. Meantime, Iowa State’s showing is the most underrated of the week, given their opponent, but still packing Jack Trice Stadium to 90% capacity, despite being three-touchdown favorites.
Cincinnati had nearly a full house, but Nippert Stadium just doesn’t have the pure capacity of the rest of the conference. At least not yet.
West Virginia’s home win over Kansas was the lowest capacity, based on percentage, in the Big 12, which may signal a lack of confidence in Neal Brown, or its just WVU fans underwhelmed with playing KU after a 1-2 start in non-conference play.
The Big 12 continues conference play next week with Week 5 getting underway on Saturday.
