The BYU Cougars have been one of the biggest surprises of the 2024 season through the first four weeks. After being picked to finish in the bottom three of the Big 12 this offseason, the Cougars have jumped out to a 4-0 start, and opened league play with a 38-9 win over Kansas State.
BYU has climbed into the Top 25 at No. 22 after their most recent win and will be favored in most of their games going forward. To this point, BYU has been one of the best bets in college football, and anyone backing the Cougars has been a happy bettor.
As pointed out by betting expert Brad Powers on Twitter, the Cougars are not only 4-0 against the spread, but they’ve also done so with quite a wide margin of victory.
The Cougars’ average margin of victory is 18.3 points per game, which trails only Tennessee (21.6) for tops among teams 4-0 ATS.

The Cougars were a 12.5-point underdog at SMU in Week 2 and a 7.5-point underdog to Kansas State at home last week before pulling off the massive upset.
This week, BYU heads to Waco to take on Baylor and is currently a three-point underdog on the road in that game.
