Two Big 12 Teams Are Amongst the Worst Against the Spread So Far in 2024

Big 12 Helmet with Question Mark.

With millions worldwide placing bets on college football every week, following which teams become the best to bet on is a consistently important aspect of sports betting.

Two teams from the Big 12 Conference have quickly become ones to avoid when it comes to betting the spread, as both Kansas and Arizona have struggled mightily to cover.

Both teams have yet to cover a spread in 2024, with Kansas failing to cover in their 48-3 win over Lindenwood, 23-17 loss to Illinois, 23-20 loss to UNLV, and their 32-28 loss to West Virginia. For Arizona, the team has gone 0-3 against the spread in their 61-39 win over New Mexico, 22-10 win over Northern Arizona, and their 31-7 loss to Kansas State.

Both teams have exciting matchups in Week 5, with Arizona kicking the Big 12 slate off against No. 10 Utah following a bye. Kansas gets set for a matchup against Sonny Dykes and the TCU Horned Frogs, who had a brutal week against in-state rival SMU.

Arizona enters the Utah game listed as 11-point underdogs with an over-under of 48.5, while Kansas hosts TCU in Lawrence as a two-point favorite.

While Arizona and Kansas may have entered the season with high-flying, fan-favorite offenses on paper, the two teams may see less and less money thrown their way after the first few weeks of the season.
