Last week, Colorado pulled off an improbable comeback over Baylor, which took both a Hail Mary and overtime to end in the Buffs’ favor, 38-31.
Now, sitting at 3-1, Deion Sanders’ squad will hit the road to take on the undefeated UCF Knights (3-0), who are coming off a bye week following a 35-24 comeback win over TCU.
With this matchup being the Knights’ Big 12 home opener, there will be a ton of talented recruits on the sidelines for the matchup, but if you ask Coach Prime, it has less to do with the Knights’ success and more about who’s in town this week.
“A lot of recruits that really want to see us, they’ll do a sign-up to go to the game on behalf of an opposing team,” Sanders said. “…It’ll be a tremendous amount of recruits. I guarantee they’ll have their biggest recruiting weekend this weekend. It’s gonna be crazy, I guarantee. Every recruit in Florida is gonna be on that sideline.”
Deion is from the Sunshine State and will be making his first return trip to Florida since taking the Colorado job, so there is a bit of truth to his claim. There is reportedly a huge contingent of Sanders’ fans set to be at the game, but let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves.
UCF is, after all, a 15-point favorite in the game and carries the nation’s most prolific rushing attack into the contest.
Kickoff between Colorado and UCF is set for 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday in Orlando.
