On Friday, Kansas State’s five-star tight end commit Linkon Cure was included in a recent post from a member of the Oregon Ducks media, which sparked some concern among Wildcats fans.
The article alleged that Cure had second thoughts about his commitment to Kansas State and that Oregon was still in the picture for a possible flip.
The report made some major headlines across the college sports world, which found its way back to Cure.
According to Landon Reinhardt of KSNT News, Cure responded to the report from ScoopDuckOn3’s Max Torres, saying, “I want to be a Wildcat forever!”
Coming out of Goodland High School in the Class of 2025, Cure is listed as a five-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 26th-ranked prospect. He also checks in as the second-ranked player at his position and the second-ranked player in the state of Kansas.
With his commitment to Kansas State, Cure became the Wildcats’ top addition in program history and helped the program advance to the 44th-ranked 2025 recruiting class.
247Sports’ Gabe Brooks labeled Cure as a first-round pick with his NFL Draft stock, saying, “Enters senior season as an elite tight end prospect with high-round NFL Draft upside. Gifted flex tight end with physical tools and strength capacity to fit all TE modes at the high-major level and potentially beyond.”
While Dan Lanning and the Ducks continue to be a tough battle for anyone in the recruiting landscape, it appears Chris Klieman and the ‘Cats got the best of them this time.
