On Monday, one team from the Big 12 Conference received some good news in the form of a visit from a five-star basketball prospect in the Class of 2025.
According to a report from On3’s Joe Tipton, five-star shooting guard Meleek Thomas is set to take an official visit to Manhattan, Kansas, to meet with Jerome Tang and the Kansas State Wildcats.
Coming out of Overtime Elite in the Class of 2025, Thomas is listed as a five-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s seventh-ranked prospect. He also checks in as the top-ranked player at his position and the second-ranked player in the state of Georgia.
According to Tipton’s report, Thomas plans to visit Kansas State on October 265th, where he is set to attend the Sunflower Showdown football game between Kansas State and Kansas.
With the news, Kansas State has now been in talks with four of the top ten-ranked players in the 2025 Class: No. 1 AJ Dybantsa, No. 3 Darryn Peterson, No. 4 Nate Ament, and No. 7 Meleek Thomas. Dybantsa was the first of the group to visit Manhattan on August 30th, followed by Peterson on September 27th.
While the Wildcats will still have to beat out numerous impressive programs to land Ament, the recruiting work that Jerome Tang and company have done since landing in Manhattan has been nothing short of sensational.
