According to a release, the Big 12 Conference and Kansas City have been selected to host the Midwest Regional of the 2027 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament at the T-Mobile Center — the host location of the Big 12 Basketball Tournament.
With the 2027 selection, the Big 12 has now had 18 opportunities to host a round of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament dating back to 1997.
This isn’t the only round of the tournament that the Big 12 is set to host in the near future, including the NCAA First and Second Rounds at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City in 2026, plus the 2030 NCAA Men’s Final Four at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Last year, the Big 12 hosted the 2024 NCAA South Regional in the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, and in 2023, the league hosted March Madness in Kansas City.
Here’s a look at the history of the Big 12 and its chances to host the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, courtesy of a conference release.
