Oklahoma State Basketball Adds Three-Star Center

Western Kentucky Hilltoppers head coach Steve Lutz talks to his players during a timeout during NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament game against the Marquette Golden Eagles, Friday, March 22, 2024, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Marquette Golden Eagles 87-69.

One team from the Big 12 Conference received some good news on Tuesday in the form of a big-name commitment in the Class of 2025.

That team is Steve Lutz’s Oklahoma State Cowboys, who earned a commitment from 2025 three-star center Mekhi Ragland.

A bit of an underrecruited player in his class, Ragland received offers from six different schools. His offer sheet includes Oklahoma State, Georgia State, Morehouse College, DePaul, East Carolina, and Kennesaw State.

Coming out of Sunrise Christain in the Class of 2025, The 6-foot-10 center is listed as a three-star prospect by the On3 Industry Rankings and the nation’s 225th-ranked prospect. He also checks in as the 15th-ranked player at his position and the top-ranked player in the state of Kansas.

Oklahoma State was actually the furthest option away from his hometown of Lilburn, Georgia, a distance of 746 miles. Offers to Georgia State and Morehouse College were just 17 miles away from home, which shows the commitment and energy of Steve Lutz’s recruiting staff.

With his commitment, Ragland joins four-star shooting guard Ryan Crotty as freshmen heading to Stillwater in 2025-26.
