Oklahoma Lands Commitment From 2025 Four-Star C Kai Rogers

NCAA Basketball: Arkansas at Oklahoma

Porter Moser and the Oklahoma Sooners have just missed the NCAA Tournament in each of the last couple of years and are hoping they can buck that trend after moving to the SEC.

They’ll place their hopes in a portal-heavy 2024 class, but the future of OU basketball go much brighter on Friday afternoon when the Sooners landed a major piece for their 2025 class.

Four-star center Kai Rogers, who is set to play his senior year for Overtime Elite (GA), announced his commitment to Oklahoma over Iowa State and SMU. The 6-foot-10 big man also held offers from top programs like Purdue, Auburn, Illinois, Texas, and Wisconsin, but ultimately chose Moser and the Sooners.

Rogers, originally a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is the No. 64 overall prospect in the 2025 class, and the No. 6 center, according to On3.

In talking with On3, Rogers detailed what it was that set Porter Moser apart from everyone else.

“Coach Porter doesn’t sugarcoat anything. He tells you as it is and he just made me feel comfortable from the jump. He’s chill off the court but when the time comes him and the rest of the staff are all high energy and that’s what I liked.”

Rogers joins four-star SF Alec Blair and three-star PF Andreas Holst as the three players currently committed to OU for 2025.

Oklahoma will open up its 2024-25 season against Lindenwood on November 4.
