Over the years, it’s become apparent that there aren’t many things that can knock Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy off his game.
However, the 2024 season has proven quite challenging for Gundy and the Pokes, as they’ve faced numerous setbacks over the last few weeks during a three-game skid.
Now, it appears Gundy can add being headbutted by a cow (Yes, you read that correctly) to the list of issues he’s having to deal with ahead of a Friday night game in Provo, Utah.
Ahead of his scheduled Monday press conference in Stillwater, Gundy announced that he would be moving the meeting to Zoom thanks to a literal “run-in with his cattle.”
“Well, I had a little run-in with my cattle over the weekend. And I guess they’ve been watching us play. And got headbutted. So I’ve got a bad eye that I didn’t think would be particularly enjoyable for people when they were looking at my pretty face in a live interview,”Gundy told News on 6.
“But more importantly, it’s full of blood, and I get dizzy, so it’s not easy to be upright and be in a normal function. But other than that, I’m doing great.”
While it might’ve prevented him from attending the press conference in person, the crazed bovine couldn’t take Gundy’s humor. The 20th-year head coach will be tasked with getting his team ready for Friday night tilt against No. 13 BYU (6-0) in Provo.
Luckily for the Pokes, there aren’t many cows in Utah.
