Will Travis Hunter, Jimmy Horn Jr. Play in Week 8?

NCAA Football: North Dakota State at Colorado

Colorado lost several players to injuries in their Week 7 loss to Kansas State, many of which appeared to be sizeable setbacks at the time.

On Tuesday, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders provided an update on the health of four key players, notably including do-it-all superstar Travis Hunter.

“Travis [Hunter] should play for certain on Saturday,” Sanders said at a Monday press conference. “Jimmy [Horn Jr.] as well. [Terrell] Timmons, Omarion [Miller], those two guys are probably out.”

The news of Travis Hunter and Jimmy Horn Jr. returning is massive for Colorado as the two have been two of the most reliable pass catchers on Colorado’s offense. In the case of Hunter, his return nearly counts as two athletes, considering his value on both sides of the ball.

Hunter, Horn Jr., Timmons, and Miller all sustained injuries in the 31-28 loss to Kansas State, but all had noticeable impacts prior to their exit. Hunter recorded three catches for 26 yards, Horn with three grabs for 20 yards, Timmons with one grab for six yards, and Omarion Miller with the biggest day of the bunch, with eight catches for 145 yards on the day.

While the losses of Miller and Timmons appear to be extended time setbacks, Hunter and Horn Jr. will have to step up in the passing game with two other contributors sidelined. The group takes the field next on Saturday, October 19th, vs. Arizona at 3:00 p.m. CT.
