The Cincinnati Bearcats have put together a challenging schedule for its second season in the Big 12 Conference with coach Wes Miller at the controls.
The Bearcats are coming off a solid first year in the Big 12 in which they barely missed the NCAA Tournament and went three rounds into the Postseason NIT, where they lost to Indiana State in the quarterfinals.
The schedule features 11 non-conference games and 20 Big 12 games, the latter being the first time the conference has fielded a 20-game league schedule.
Unlike most Big 12 schools, Cincinnati is not playing in a tournament or a multi-team event this year. The Bearcats will go to Villanova for the Big 12-BIG EAST Battle and play the Hoops Classic against Dayton on a neutral court in Cincinnati. And, of course, the annual crosstown showdown with Xavier.
The Big 12 schedule will take place over 10 weeks with no break, meaning by the time the Wildcats get to their first Big 12 Tournament in March in Kansas City, they will have played two games a week for more than two months.
The Big 12 Tournament will be held March 11-15 at T-Mobile Arena and all 16 teams will participate. The exact format of the bracket will be announced at a later date.
